At times I am completely amazed at what Dominican vehicles are capable of. It is amazing to me to see what their owners put them through. Here are a few pictures of things that just made me giggle.

This picture is funny because the father has his sons riding on the back of the truck to hold a bag of bread on the truck. It is no surprise the bread is not tied down. It is just funny the kids had to ride on the back of the truck to hold the bread on.

They seemed to be having a good time so what's the harm?

The thing I like about this picture is the tie down used to hold everything in the truck. It is amazing the tire up top never fell out.

This guy is a bit of a genius because he even thought of putting some red bottles at the end of the pile so people behind him wouldn't ram him from behind.

The rules for how much can fit in the back of a pick-up truck are simple. Fill it as high as possible until things just wont go any higher. This poor truck has way to much stuff! As we went past I thought it was about to tip over.

Notice the rear right tire looks really low. WOW!

Chicken Truck. A perfect way to carry chickens.

Many people from poor cities go to Santo Domingo to buy things and then transport them back home on the bus. This picture is an entire dining room set tied to the back of the bus. No problem!

I took this picture because the buses kept passing with stuff lashed all over the front, back, and top. Looking at this picture reminds me of traveling on a JetBlue flight from JFK to Santo Domingo.

Dominicans have no idea when something is just too full.

The funniest part of this picture is the truck in front of the bus. These guys are actually traveling by riding on the top of the bananas. We are about 50 miles from any city.

Notice the truck has no door.

Another bus with front luggage compartments.

Yep, luggage can be tied on front too!

I think this one gets the award. I count seven suitcases. Love it!

If you buy a refrigerator and need to get it home just take it on the bus with you. Not a problem. The buses drivers and other passengers are more than happy to wait while it is tied on and unloaded.

The way I look at it these guys have moving figured out. All you need to move is a small pickup truck. You can then just load everything on top.

I zoomed into try to see everything that they were carrying. I can definitely see the refrigerator underneath and the couches on top. These guys really know how to pack!

One of the most impressive parts is they have the kids up top sitting in the best seats in the house. They are actually riding on the couches! Incredible. Only in the Dominican Republic.

I bet the kids are having a great time. I know I would have loved to have been able to ride on top of the couches when we moved as a kid. As things were my dad would not even let me ride in the back of the truck...
